Diabetic Ulcer
Diabetic ulcer is generally affected in the foot though there are chances of the ulcer in other parts too. Diabetic ulcer is generally caused due to blockage in arteries or due to weak nerves. The individual affected with diabetic ulcer fails to realize any pressure or any effect due to rubbing. Usually diabetic ulcers are located in the lower leg below the ankles in the feet and it is painful depending upon the infection. The part the ulcer is infected swollen up and remains aching. The ulcer symptoms are that it is generally located near the tip of the toes, heels, in-between the toes due to the pressure the skin thickens and a minor injury kind of cut raises from that . Finally that breaks down to form ulceration. Diabetic ulcers characteristically have a yellow surface and green or yellow pus drains out of the open ulcer that is surrounded by red skin that is swollen up and spreads a foul smell. It is thus advisable to clean the wound often and dress it up neatly so that it does get further infected when left open. If the ulcer is too deep that its infection is affected deep inside the bones I t might result in surgical amputation of the leg.
